Two Years of Elevate District 5: Empowering Small Businesses
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins is celebrating two years of success with the Elevate District 5 initiative. Launched in 2022, this program has empowered local entrepreneurs and small business owners to navigate the challenges brought by the pandemic. Commissioner Higgins, along with representatives from Miami Dade College, business organizations, and small business owners, unveiled the Elevate District 5 Impact Report at The Idea Center in Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus during National Small Business Week.
Highlights of the report include:
- 525 Businesses Assisted: Through customized support programs.
- 415 Grants Awarded: To help businesses overcome financial challenges.
- 30 Training Sessions: Covering essential business skills like AI technology and marketing.
- $1,862,000 Invested: In free bilingual programming and financial support.
Commissioner Higgins expressed her pride in the program’s achievements, noting the substantial impact on the local business community.
