How a Music Entrepreneur Leverages AI to Market Her New Music

Ashley Arkels saves days of work by using artificial intelligence in her marketing workflow

No one wakes up knowing how to successfully implement AI in their marketing. I’d like to share a real-life success story from our 8-week AI for Marketing Content course of a savvy music entrepreneur who is using AI to supercharge her marketing. I think it will inspire you to do the same!

Artist and entrepreneur Ashley Arkels runs Miami-based music company Sparkels. The company works in live music production, musical artist management and development, marketing and promotion, and distribution. AI enabled Ashley (who releases music as AZSH) to streamline the company’s marketing efforts and enhance its brand presence, saving her hundreds of dollars and accelerating her content delivery time by three days!

How does Ashley use artificial intelligence to market her music?

Ashley used AI to trim hours, save money, and improve the quality and results of her marketing in several ways:

AI is a partner in creating album artwork.

Before, when Ashley debuted a new song, she’d hire a graphic designer to create the album cover art. After learning how to incorporate AI into her marketing workflow, she used the AI tool MidJourney to generate stunning album artwork. By experimenting with various prompts, she created visuals that perfectly embodied the essence of her music. She then fine-tuned the images using Canva to add text and filters. Here’s the final artwork she created: 

Artificial intelligence enabled Ashley to create and implement a strategy to engage fans.

Following BizHack’s Lead Building System LBS™ (our systematic approach to marketing that you can read more about in this free download), Ashley implemented an AI-driven lead-generation system to grow her fanbase.

First, Ashley shared the details of the Lead Building System with ChatGPT. Then she asked it to help her develop a step-by-step lead-generation campaign following the system. She refined and built out the strategy through further conversations with the AI.

With this campaign, Ashley has been able to maintain a steady stream of new followers on music platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. She saved at least two hours of work, plus used great new ideas that came from ChatGPT.

With artificial intelligence, Ashley creates focused, highly effective content marketing strategies to promote new songs.

Using Chat GPT, Ashley can ask for a content strategy to promote a new song. After telling ChatGPT about the song, she notes where she wants to engage people and asks for the strategy in table form. ChatGPT provides her with tailored content and engagement ideas for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok. This saves Ashley hours of work and allows for a more focused and effective promotional effort.

Ashley uses artificial intelligence to optimize her marketing campaigns.

By using ChatGPT to analyze her audience demographics and behavior, Ashley refines her marketing campaigns to better target dance music festival fans. AI helps her create irresistible offers, such as contests giving away tickets to music festivals, which can significantly boost her engagement and email list.

Artificial intelligence also helped Ashley better understand her own brand.

“AI helped me really hone in on what my brand is and what my messaging should be,” Ashley says. She was surprised by how much AI helped her understand her own body of work. She used ChatGPT to analyze her own lyrics and describe some of the distinct eras in her songwriting and music-making. AI turned into an invaluable thought partner.
