Mark Stencel is Co-Director of the Duke Reporters’ Lab and Journalism Instructor, Sanford School of Public Policy. He is also Executive Director of JournalList. At the Lab, he oversees a technology team that works closely with fact-checkers around the world to increase the speed and impact of their reporting. He previously worked at National Public Radio, Congressional Quarterly and The Washington Post. At the Post, he also worked on early fact-checking experiments during four presidential race’s starting in the early 1990s.
