What We’ll Cover
This five-hour course will cover how to use digital marketing to drive revenue and increase brand awareness. Each week, we’ll review key online tools and tactics to find new customers, bring back past customers, and increase sales during COVID-19.
Dan Grech, Founder and CEO of BizHack Academy will lead the five one-hour sessions. For experienced marketers, it’ll be a concise review of marketing best practices. For businesses just getting started in online lead generation, it’ll be an easy-to-understand introduction to digital marketing. No fancy tech jargon or dazzling with dashboards, I promise.
The training will focus on the marketing channels that are most relevant to a storefront business – website, social media, Yelp, Google My Business, video, email, phone, Messenger, mail, signage, and flyers. As part of the funding, any storefront business located inside Pinecrest is eligible for personalized coaching from a BizHack certified instructor.

Getting this CARES Act funding in partnership with Pinecrest is a watershed moment for BizHack. Since the start of the pandemic, we’ve done everything we can to support small businesses, from holding live weekly webinars to giving away more than $90,000 in scholarships to 40+ deserving minority- and women-owned businesses.
This grant takes our work supporting micro-enterprises – the lifeblood of our economy, and the most impacted by the pandemic – to a new level. We will train up to 300 businesses in this five-week course, and offer personalized coaching to up to 100 storefronts located in Pinecrest.

About BizHack Founder and Lead Instructor Dan Grech
Dan Grech is the founder of BizHack Academy, which trains small businesses around the world in the BizHack Lead Building System. Dan has worked as the head of digital marketing at two software startups and the nation’s largest Hispanic-owned energy company. As the head of growth at OfferCraft, Dan took the company from pre-revenue to a $2.5 ARR in under three years.
Before becoming a marketer, Dan spent two decades as a journalist. He worked for NPR, PBS, and The Washington Post, was part of a Pulitzer Prize-winning team at The Miami Herald, was the News Director at Miami’s NPR station, and co-founded one of the nation’s first podcasts. Dan has taught at top universities including Princeton, Columbia and University of Miami.
Dan is a graduate of Princeton University and has two Masters degrees in storytelling and Spanish-language journalism. He’s a dual citizen of the U.S. and Spain. He’s a father of two, his wife Gretchen Beesing is the CEO of Catalyst Miami, and he was part of an improv comedy troupe for more than a decade.
Pinecrest was incorporated on March 12, 1996, and is one of thirty-four municipalities in Miami-Dade County. Pinecrest is home to approximately 18,223 residents (2010 Census) and is conveniently located south of Downtown Miami and Miami International Airport. Pinecrest encompasses approximately eight square miles and is recognized as one of the most beautiful residential areas in South Florida.
The Village Council unanimously agreed to seek help for Pinecrest businesses via the CARES Act and is now offering small business owners the chance to learn digital marketing from one of the nation’s top marketers via the BizHack program. In addition to digital marketing training, the Village also secured funds for rent abatement for small businesses. The Village of Pinecrest is nationally recognized as a Tree City USA, a Playful City USA and a Community of Respect.
